Hey Reader! If you're using 5+ products or you're buying new products every month or so, but your skin isn't clear - here's what I've noticed: There's usually two problems that come with using too many products. Problem #1: Ditching the product before giving it enough time to really work. I know these products promise us the moon and the stars & will clear our skin faster than we can blink ๐ So we use it for a month + when we don't see immediate results, we toss it. But acne works in cycles + it takes 90 days to form. So, in order to get the full affect and see if it will really clear your current acne AND the acne you don't see - it will take 90 day days. Unless you are breaking out because of the product, buckle up! In this day and age of Amazon Prime and getting things quickly, we are not the most patient people (something, I, an aries is working on lol), but our skin does not care. Your skin is trying to protect and heal, but when we have YEARS of damage, years of using the wrong products, years of not wearing sunscreen ... Give yourself the gift of consistency + see how much your skin can clear in 3 months time. Problem #2: Contrary to popular belief, your skin is NOT a sponge. Skin is designed to keep things out in order to keep you alive. If you consumed everything in the air or everything you touch, you wouldn't be here. Yet when it comes to our products, we're using product after product thinking that our skin is absorbing everything. It's not. Some are and some are sitting on the outer layer of your skin. This happens when you're using single/two ingredient products over and over and aren't exfoliating enough to get rid of the amount of dead skin cells you're producing. This is why I say cheap products aren't better and expensive products aren't better. Skincare products with intentional formulations are better. Choose products that have complex formulations with as many ingredients as possible in one product to target your concern. An example is a mandelic acid exfoliator vs a mandelic acid exfoliator with lactic acid, sodium hyaluronate, and vitamin c. The second product will do more with less product. With the right products and consistency, you can clear your acne using less products. So the next time you're influenced to buy some more products, and don't want them to just sink on your sink/desk, remember this! XOXO, Ashley | Acne Esthetician + Nutrition Coach โ โ โ |

Hey Reader, Have you ever woke up and couldn't wait until the day was over, so you could get back in bed because you're exhausted? Or you're so tired that you can't sleep, no matter how much you count sheep and stare at the ceiling? Even if this happens 1-2 nights a week, it's feeding into and contributing to your acne. But why? This is your body telling you it's still fighting off your stress hormone, cortisol. Too much cortisol leads to microbiome dysregulation (aka your gut) which leads to...
