Hey Reader, These past couple of days have been kinda shitty - in a good and bad way π I've been on this weight loss journey, and was doing pretty good, so of course I got sick ... Right before I planned to see BeyoncΓ© again in STL π€¦π½ββοΈ THEN try prioritizing getting 150g of protein a day when you don't want to get out of bed! I'm on the other side of it now, but then I woke up to the BIGGEST pimple on my chin that I've ever gotten. I'm not going to lie to you - I started to spiral a little. I even contemplated putting a bandaid on my face π₯΄ The first thing I tell my clients when they breakout "out of no where" is to do a 3 Day Food + Life Journal, so you can pinpoint where the breakout is coming from. Turns out my life has been chaos because I'm in a season where I'm prioritizing building better habits. #1. I've started a new whey protein powder - and for some that's an acne trigger. But I made sure to get a clean, whey protein isolate with digestive enzymes to combat it hurting your stomach or making you bloat. So, if you are looking for some clean, delicious protein powders: Clean Simple Eats is my go-to recommendation. #2. In my journey to eat more protein, I've slacked on fiber so I haven't been pooping daily. (bowel movements are crucial for your liver + your gut being able to digest food. this kind of backup can trigger acne!) #3. I've started a new supplement. And you have to be careful whenever you start a new supplement that is altering how your body is functioning. But I don't think any of these are the reasons why I broke out. Because this is the best I've felt in my body in a lonnnggg time! I think it happened because of stress. I don't really like change, so change stresses me out lol. So my focus for the next 30 days is my Gut Health Protocol to make sure I'm adding in foods to clear me up + my Skincare Protocol to get this pimple gone ASAP. But for the sake of my stress, my goal is to get back to emotional safety + not analyze my skin AT ALL in the mirror. I hope this makes you feel less alone. Breakouts happen to the best of us. What matters most is what you do next. Until next time π€ XOXO, Ashley | Acne Esthetician + Nutrition Coach |

Hey Reader, Have you ever woke up and couldn't wait until the day was over, so you could get back in bed because you're exhausted? Or you're so tired that you can't sleep, no matter how much you count sheep and stare at the ceiling? Even if this happens 1-2 nights a week, it's feeding into and contributing to your acne. But why? This is your body telling you it's still fighting off your stress hormone, cortisol. Too much cortisol leads to microbiome dysregulation (aka your gut) which leads to...
